“No one else is your problem. You are the locus of conversion and transformation” ~Richard Rohr
The FOCUSandFLOW Life Question:
Where do you locate the possibility of transformation?
“To change how you are, you must transform who you are. The center of your transformation is located in the innermost core of your being and emanates from there to your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships. Honest self-examination is the prerequisite activity for true transformation. We must look within, through clear eyes that seek truth with humility and without fear, guilt, or shame. We often blame and externalize, judging and putting others down– with our most harsh judgments involving the things reflect what is hiding in ourselves. We must be willing to see ugliness and sinfulness, to see neediness and fear, to see powerlessness and insecurity, to see ignorance and unknowing, to see pridefulness and ego. We must be willing to first see these manifestations of our humanness with compassion and forgiveness, and then see beyond them to the internal and eternal love and peace that is available to each of us. The center of our transformation, individually and collectively, originates within and radiates out.” ~Shelly Prillerman Harrell
