“Everyone longs for intimacy and dreams of a nest of belonging in which one is embraced, seen, and loved.” ~John O’Donohue
The FOCUSandFLOW Life Question:
What are you doing to carefully build a nest of belonging in your life?
“Having a place where you feel seen and where you don’t have to hide parts of yourself, is like fresh air, sunlight, and freedom. We, however, have to be willing to be seen. We have to cultivate relationships where we can allow another person to first glimpse, and then see, and then love us in our full personhood. This takes courage; and accepting the reality that vulnerability comes with the possibility of painful experiences. But rather than hiding in the shadows, take the risk of living in the light! Rather than dwelling in your fears of what could go wrong and worst case scenarios, savor every moment of true connection with others. What you savor becomes internalized and will multiply its expression. Recognize that painful feelings pass (if you allow them to), and are worth the bliss of living in the fresh open air where you can be yourself , be accepted, and be affirmed– in that place of love and light where you belong.” ~Shelly Prillerman Harrell
